All the finalists sound great. However, most of them have the stereotypical a cappella sound. Breath of Soul is something different. Breath of Soul took this challenge and made it their own. What you see is what you get with them...and that is musical excellence. A medley of each of their favorite Lady A songs was the most brilliant and creative approach of all entries. They may not have the widespread outreach social media wise that a larger group can pull from nor are they pulling from a fan base built by previous predecessors but I feel that they and their fans have put their heart, talent and SOUL into giving Lady A their all and are fighting valiantly. These 4 guys came to the high school in our area, and spent all day teaching the kids and showing them how a Capella works and how you blend and all the things that go with singing. They also held a concert that night in a terrible thunder and lightening storm. We had more people and kids then we could imagine. They are partnered with the St. Thomas Foundation in Nashville and help fundraise and perform at benefits for cancer survivors and families with loved ones who have been affected by cancer. They have held countless workshops at high schools around the country sharing their talent and vision. The medley of Lady A pieces is just the tip of the iceberg for these guys. But these guys used talents other than just vocal talents, which is apparent in the creativity and originality of this mix. I cant imagine the time they put into composing this medley. I agree. But not only do I think of those descriptions when it comes to BOS, I think of much more. Words like kind, smart, and funny, also stand out. Not only are they amazingly talented musicians, but they are good people… and super friends! Am I a bit biased, because I've known one of them for over a decade? Maybe. But I've also got a musical background… and that allows me to notice things that others don't. And I'm telling you... you can't go wrong with these guys. They are the best of the best.
